Hemisection is a dental procedure to be done on damaged and fractured multiradicular teeth.This procedure is based on extraction under local anaesthesia of one (or more) radices with maintenance of other radices. Such tooth demands further prosthetic reconstraction. Hemisection is a rescue procedure, a difficult one and very often ends with failure.With the planned hemisection of molar teeth endodontic treatment should be applied to the remaining radices, but hard tissues should be prevented. |
