Tooth extraction is a surgical procedure based on extracting tooth out of alveolar bone with the use of proper devices (forceps, dental elevator, etc.) The procedure is done under anaesthesia. Indications for tooth extraction are general diseases which cannot be treated otherwise.Immediately after tooth extraction is very important to keep this area clean and to avoid infection. Your dentist will ask you to bite a piece of dry sterile gauze which shouldn’t be removed up to 30-45 min to restrain bleeding when blood is clotting. During next 24 hours it is forbidden to smoke, intensively rinse the oral cavity or to clean teeth near the area of extraction. |
